Meet the Centurion team

At our practice, Monique and Magdeli focus on helping each individual reach their health goals through Functional Nutrition—an approach where evidence-based dietary strategies support the body and mind’s natural ability to heal and restore balance.

Our daily work is guided by the belief that food is not just fuel but a key part of every healing journey. We combine science, experience, and compassion to provide tailored nutrition plans that are both practical and sustainable.

Monique Bailey

Dietician

I’m a Clinical and Renal Dietitian (PU for CHE) with a special interest in Hormonal and Functional Health through the Institute for Functional Nutrition (IFNA, USA). Over the past 21 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping individuals transform their health through nutrition.

The field of nutrition has evolved tremendously, and I’m continually inspired by how research confirms that nutrition truly is the cornerstone of health. My greatest joy is empowering patients with practical, evidence-based guidance that fits their lifestyle—because sustainable change comes from realistic, achievable steps.

Beyond clinical practice, raising four wonderful children has deepened my understanding of paediatric nutrition. For the past 12 years, I’ve worked closely with paediatricians, including those in renal paediatrics, to support young patients and their families on their health journeys.

Whether your goal is to manage a medical condition, restore balance, or simply feel your best, I’d love to help you achieve it—through the power of nutrition.

Magdeli van Niekerk

Dietician

Magdeli van Niekerk, a Registered Dietitian based with @Health Dietician Centurion. I obtained my Bachelor of Dietetics from the University of Pretoria, where I also received the Golden Key Award for academic excellence. My passion for nutrition began through personal experience — seeing how chronic diseases affect quality of life within my own family. My sister was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 10. This inspired my mission: to help people prevent, manage, and even reverse disease through personalized nutrition and lifestyle interventions.

I have a special interest in functional nutrition, where I use evidence-based strategies to support the body’s natural ability to heal. My focus areas include: metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, and fatty liver, hormonal and thyroid balance, sport, burnout & mental health support, heart health and inflammation, digestive health and IBS management.

In addition, I have further training in neuro-nutrition for paediatrics, helping children with autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome to thrive through targeted dietary support. I am also certified in breastfeeding support, and enjoy guiding mothers through nourishing themselves and their babies.

Beyond my clinical work, I’m a creative at heart — I love photography, design, and spending time in nature. My approach to wellness is holistic, practical, and empowering. I believe that food should not only heal but also bring joy.

My goal is simple: to help you feel healthier, happier, and more energetic — one bite at a time.
